Here in Ethiopia,we have spent the past week designing and testing a standardized quantitative questionnaire that will be integrated into the new SKI curriculum as a prerequisite for implementation. It was an extremely intense week:full of meetings all-day;everyday,and plenty of site visits. Though intensive,I feel happy to have taken part [...] Language here is a bit… difficult. I’m at the stage where if people speak slowly in Krio,I can transcribe it into English,but I can’t speak it or conduct interviews of my own in it. This is definitely a challenge working in communications! How do I help to share the stories of people when [...] Debre Berhan methodologically confounds. I go to bed in long johns (rainbow stripped) and wake up sweating through my shirt,reaching manically for the bottled water on my table. I sat down on a bag (50kgs) [...] OK,so when we Street Kids interns had our training in Toronto,we did a three day workshop on working in a cross-cultural setting. We learned a lot of stuff that week –useful stuff,serious stuff,interesting stuff… But at the same time,there were a lot of laughs in that workshop. Because [...] The past month and half has been incredible. I have had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout this country where every route seems like the scenic route.
